A man, his name is Daniel, walks with a box. He is visiting the different shows of the Tanzwochen Wien- a dance festival that takes place every summer in Vienna. The inside of the box is an exact replica of the man’s living room. The box has two holes in the bottom- one for Daniel’s head and one for a visitor. Inside the box, Daniel tells stories about his apartment, his building, his life; he moves or dances with his face, desperately trying to entertain the sole guest in the box. The performance takes place in the city- out side the theatres, in the lobbies, in between shows, in front of the entrances and as an opposition to the expensive and fancy shows that are happing in side. A small camera, installed in the box, is documenting the exchange between Daniel and his guests. The filmed materials will be posted on the net – the interaction becomes a home page or better yet a homebox.
